In 2024, I played a key role in the marketing campaign for Blue by Thomas Weatherall, presented at La Boite Theatre.
The campaign combined high-quality visuals, lo-fi behind-the-scenes social media content and targeted paid media across Meta and TikTok. Our aim was to create a balanced mix of polished and authentic content, engaging audience at various stages throughout the campaign.
A key strategy was capitalising on Thomas Weatherall’s growing popularity from his role as Malakai in Netflix’s Heartbreak High. We timed key promotional activities to align with the launch of Heartbreak High Season 3, harnessing the buzz to attract a wider audience early on.
To maintain engagement and drive conversions, we released lo-fi content such as casual interviews and social-first videos as organic content then as ads on Meta and Tiktok, allowing Thomas to connect with his fans on La Boite’s socials and beyond. This approach successfully bridged the gap between Thomas’s Netflix fanbase and the live theatre experience, resulting in strong engagement and a solid box office outcome.
